WHO WE ARE

Movers And Shakers

vcommute is a leading provider of cutting-edge technologies and services, offering scalable solutions for businesses of all sizes. Founded by an industry IT consultant who advocated video commuting as part of an inclusive business continuity strategy after 9/11 in the Washington DC area.

With 2020 and Covid driving adoption of teleworking, telelearning, and  telemedicine we are happy to provide state of the art telepresence solutions for moving ideas, not people.

Telepresence: The term used to describe a set of technologies, such as high definition audio, video, and other interactive elements that enable people to feel or appear as if they were present in a location which they are not physically in. Used mainly as a collaboration tool, Telepresence differs from videoconferencing as it offers face-to-face interactions between the people in the meeting through the transmission of life-size, high-definition images and audio.

We only use HD TV/monitors and HD cameras with stereo microphones.

WHAT WE DO

Easy. Fast. Secure.

At vcommute, we believe that our solutions will soon become one of the biggest segments in the industry. We’ve only just started, but we already know that every product we build requires hard-earned skills, dedication and a daring attitude. Continue reading and learn all there is to know about the smart tech behind our successful IT startup.

Every system starts with a lifesize HD display to give the look and feel of being in the same room face to face which is the essence of a teleprescence system.  To match the incoming video that you see with the outgoing image we match the system with an HD camera capable of 1080p and 1080p output over a USB 3.0 high throughput port to give the other person in the conversation the same look and feel of you being there.  Our video systems have stereo microphones to allow for stereo audio which again lends itself to feeling like you are in the same room.  Our hardware is compatible with Zoom, Skype, Webex, Google Duo and Meet, Facebook messaging, whatsapp and others.

Ultimately having lifesize images and stereo audio is about effectively communicating with our family, friends, colleagues and even strangers, but only a small percentage of what we communicate during each of these conversations is verbal. Research shows that the vast majority of what we convey (93%) through our interactions with others is innate and instinctual, known as nonverbal communication.  Nonverbal behavior like body movements and posture, facial expressions, eye contact, hand gestures and tone of voice all contribute to how we communicate and understand each other. Often, we are unaware of our participation in interpersonal, nonverbal communication because these actions are inherent to how we converse as humans and ingrained into our daily lives.

For business professionals, clearly and effectively communicating with clients, customers and teammates is vital to the success of the company. Yet, all too often business is conducted via phone, chat and other forms of communication where these nonverbal context clues are lost. Conversely, using high quality, face-to-face video conferencing technology guarantees that nonverbal communication is maintained during business-critical conversations.

Don't lose your business edge. Get a VCOMMUTE teleprescence system and thrive in these days of COVID.
